The Problem

Every year we dump a massive 2.12 billion tons of waste on the planet.

The Solution

GiveAway app allows you to quickly give away things you don’t need, and quickly get things that you do.

My Role

As the Lead Product Designer at GiveAway, I was responsible for the end-to-end product experience — from initial research and strategic conceptualization to the final high-fidelity UI for a platform serving 5 million users.

Product Strategy & Vision: Collaborated directly with the CEO to transform the idea of a circular economy into a Y Combinator-backed business, contributing to $500k+ in revenue and helping users save over $5M+.

User Experience (UX) Design: Mapped out complex peer-to-peer exchange journeys using virtual coins, achieving a 49% 12-month retention rate for paying users and 37% for core users by removing friction from the trading process.

User Interface (UI) Design: Crafted a scalable visual language and design system capable of supporting 1M+ traded items, balancing a friendly, community-focused aesthetic with the functional density of a marketplace

Research & Validation: Conducted user research to determine key requirements for second-hand trading, validating features that encouraged long-term engagement and trust between strangers
